JOB SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible for mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Club specifications for Members and Guests. The Bartender provides bar and table service by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet each guest promptly and graciously with eye contact, a smile, and good posture
- Distribute food and wine menus and answer questions
- Fill glasses with iced water and suggest menu items
- Place orders with the kitchen; inform cooks about any special cooking instructions
- Efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections
- Ensure that food is prepared correctly and to customers’ satisfaction; return incorrect or improperly cooked orders to the kitchen
- Remove soiled dishes; clear tables after each course and reset them with appropriate silverware
- Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests according to specifications, courteously and efficiently
- Ensure that all details of service are performed correctly and that every guest receives the highest quality of service
- Collect checks and payments from members and guests for food and beverage services
- Respond quickly to requests from guests, supervisors, or management in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
- Restock and clean the bar while providing friendly and attentive service to members and guests
- Reports complaints to a manager as they occur
- Maintain records of liquor, beer, and wine to ensure bar inventory is available for business
- Adhere to Club standards, policies, and procedures for serving alcoholic beverages
- All other duties as assigned and not outlined above

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma; 1-2 years of bartending or related food and beverage service experience. Private Club or fine dining experience strongly preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Language Skills:
Ability to effectively read, analyze, and interpret reports and correspondence. Ability to effective present information and respond to questions from Members, Guests, Vendors, Managers, and Team Members.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as probability, division, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
